In honor of America’s Vietnam War veterans on Memorial Day 2020, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs has launched a series of dramatic videos in which combat veterans remember their experiences in battle.

For Army Ranger Oscar Lee Torbet III, the first taste of combat was a terrifying experience. But it also taught him the most valuable lesson he learned during the war: before all else, a leader must do everything he can to protect the lives of the soldiers under his command.
